Interstate Enterprises, Inc. was incorporated in March of 1987 by Betty Zayac in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. This company is a woman owned business with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. We install fence, guide rail, post mounted signs and delineators in the Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio areas. We are certified with Penn DOT, WV DOT, DGS and DEP. This family business has grown into a competitive contractor. Our office staff and jobsite crew work together as a family to make the project run smoothly and productively to complete a superior project.
I.E.I. has built and maintained many significant relationships with General Contractors, Counties, Townships and Independent Businesses. As a company, we focus on providing our customers with a quality product.
In 1987, Betty Zayac started Interstate Enterprises, Inc. as a woman owned family business. Betty’s daughters, Judy and Colleen, have been a part of this family owned business for years and have assumed major roles in the company. They all lead by example expecting their employees to work hard for their customers with safety and satisfaction in mind.
Judy and Colleen take pride in creating a business for the family to enjoy together. Their positive attitude has allowed I.E.I. to flourish and thrive from the beginning. They focus on keeping I.E.I. organized and are focused on the future. They have high expectations for their employees and company.
It is the policy of our company to provide and maintain a safe and healthful working environment. Our employees participate in a 10 hour OSHA Safety Course. Safety is our number one priority.

Sample Projects
Montour Trail - I.E.I. was one of the contractors that participated in the construction of the Montour Trail which is a multi use trail in Allegheny and Washington Counties in PA. I.E.I. installed the bridge fence, approach wood railing, and right of way fence to make the new bridges safe for trail users. The trail is 46 miles long.
Pittsburgh International Airport - I.E.I. installed high security fence around the Airport which opened in 1992.
Beaver Valley Expressway - Construction started on June 14, 1990 with sections starting to open in 1992. From there the Southern Expressway was constructed to connect many areas to the Pittsburgh International Airport. I.E.I. installed guide rail, right of way fence, and delineators on many sections of the new highways.
Mon Fayette Expressway - I.E.I. also contributed in the construction of the Mon Fayette Expressway which stretches from Morgantown, WV to Jefferson Hill, PA. We installed right of way fence, guide rail, delineators, and post mounted signs on various sections. Ground was broke in June 1988 and the first section was open on October 12, 1990.
Benedum Airport - I.E.I. installed the 12’ high Security Chain Link Fence around the entire Benedum Airport in Bridgeport, WV in the 1990’s.
